This product package has been designed for those who are travelling internationally and would like to cover a range of things from trip cancellation and luggage loss to emergency medical and personal accident assistance as well as avoid being strained financially due to unforeseen circumstances. There are different options customers can consider and these are Automatic basic cover, Optional top up cover and Seniors cover.
Automatic basic cover is automatic for travelers under 75 who purchase and pay for the full cost of their air tickets with their Absa credit card and it’s valid for up to 90 days. Benefits offered include emergency medical expenses and associated expenses, personal accident cover and Absa Travel Assistant.
The Optional top-up cover consists of three comprehensive travel insurance packages to suit client needs and its valid for trips of up to 90 or 120 days but there is a provision to purchase extended cover for trips of up to 184 days. Rates are calculated according to age bands such as 3 months to 59 years of age, 60 years to 69 years and 70 years to 74 years. Benefits of this cover include additional cover for emergency medical and associated expenses, personal accident insurance, trip cancellation, baggage loss or theft, legal expenses, hi-jack, wrongful detention and personal loss of money or passport.
Seniors cover is specifically for travelers between the ages of 75 and 85 and it’s valid for up to 90 or 120 days but it can also be purchased for trips of up to 184 days.This cover offers senior travelers comprehensive travel insurance cover for emergency medical and associated expenses, personal accident insurance, trip cancellation, baggage loss or theft, legal expenses, wrongful detention and personal loss of money or passport.
