Soweto Wine Festival 2017 is the 12th edition of the Soweto Wine and Lifestyle Festival. Set to take place at the Soweto Theatre, the event is themed “The Art of Summer Wine”.
From the 3rd to the 5th of March 2017, festival goers will enjoy being able to meet winemakers, learn the ABCs of wine, enjoy wine and food demos and taste wines from across the globe.
Artists, crafters, fashion designers and entrepreneurs will be showcasing alongside leading lifestyle brands.
The event aims to bring together wine lovers and producers in the market, to sample various new wines and to enjoy networking.
Founded by Mnikelo Mangiphu, owner of the Morara Wine and Spirit Emporium and Cape Wine Master Marilyn Cooper, former CEO of the Cape Wine Academy, the Soweto Wine Festival was originally designed to bring Cape Wines into Johannesburg’s largest township, Soweto.
“The festival is well-known around the world as having transformed the South African wine industry, removing old customs, and developing a large, discerning, well-educated, wine-drinking culture over the past decade,” according to the founders.
