In recent years Samsung has established itself as a company at the forefront of smartphone technology. When one talks about the premier smartphone models, more often than not, the Samsung name is brought up.
The brand has become synonymous with the most elite of smartphone devices and continues to innovate and elevate standards.
Tech publication Techradar.com says: “The Samsung Galaxy S5 can be defined by one word: evolution.”
While the Samsung Galaxy S5 was originally released in 2014, the company has recently released another version of this model with an updated Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system. The phone has bold colours and cleaner fonts, icons and menus. This has led to some people arguing that “the phone doesn’t quite feel as ‘classy’ or business-like”.
Other changes in the phone include a quicker processor and a battery life that is better than that of the S6. (Samsung claims the phone has 21 hour battery talk time).
The fingerprint scanner adds to the most secure Samsung Galaxy phone ever made. An improvement made by the company includes a more responsive scanner. Now a natural thumb swipe across the home button opens the phone.
The Smart Lock feature can keep your device unlocked under certain circumstances, such as when approved devices are connected or while it’s being carried. Users can also play media and use the camera with the screen locked.
The phone comes with 2GB of RAM and a 2800 mAh removable battery. The improved design with a metal and glass edges includes a 5.1 inch vibrant screen with 1920 x 1080 screen resolution.
In addition to being a powerful phone and the great battery life, this phone model also has a micro SD slot and is also water resistant. It also has a 16 GB built-in memory.
Overall the Samsung Galaxy S5 can be considered to have an edge over some pricier mid-range alternatives.
