The film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was set for a US release on 25 March 2016. Starring Henry Cavill as Superman and Ben Affleck as Batman, the film was made on a $250 million budget.
Billed as a follow-up to 2013 film “Man of Steel,” the movie is the first live-action film to feature both Batman and Superman. While many fans had been expecting Christian Bale to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne, the Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder has explained that the incarnation of Batman in the film would not be related to the one in the previous Batman film trilogy. The film also marks the first appearance of Wonder Woman in a live-action, theatrical film.
This is Affleck’s second venture as a superhero, with his first being Daredevil. Cavill’s starring role as Superman helped to put him on the map, while redeeming the franchise’s status among fans.
Can fans expect a thrilling storyline?
Fearing the actions of Superman are left unchecked, Batman takes on Superman, while the world wrestles with what kind of a hero it really needs. With Batman and Superman fighting each other, a new threat, Doomsday, is created by Lex Luthor.
They need to work together along with Wonder Woman to stop Lex Luthor and Doomsday from destroying Metropolis.
Fans of the DC Comics characters Batman and Superman can also expect to see a star-studded cast on the big screen.
The film also stars Jason Momoa (popularly known for his role as Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones), who will be taking on the role of Aquaman. Jesse Eisenberg (of The Social Network and Now You See Me) will be starring as Superman’s arch nemesis Lex Luthor.
Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Jeremy Irons, Laurence Fishburne and Holly Hunter round up the cast.
