Huawei’s next flagship smartphone, the P9, is set to be released later this year. Photos have recently surfaced, with the most striking feature being the dual rear cameras.
While Huawei P9 photos have leaked online, the official release date has not been confirmed by the company. The estimated release date according to many technology fans and experts alike is sometime in April.
According to tech site Venturebeat.com, Huawei is set to offer a total of four P9 phones, including:
- Regular P9
- P9 Lite, which is the most affordable at $289
- P9 Max, the most expensive model at $627
- Enhanced P9
The phones have a slim profile and a metal body and are expected to have larger screens than its predecessor the P8. Colours won’t be limited to a simple grey or black either, but the colour spectrum will include gold, white, pink and grey.
What can be expected from the Huawei P9?
The phone is expected to have 2GB RAM as well as 4GB Memory, while the 5.2 inch full HD model will also have a Dual SIM option. The 8MP front-facing camera will also have a 12 MP sensor, while the Android Marshmallow 6.01 operating System is set to ensure that the phone operates at a fast rate and that it doesn’t struggle with multi-tasking.
Most people have a simple list of expectations from a smartphone:
- Decent battery life

The Chinese Manufacturer’s latest offering is set to compete with Samsung’s S7 range and the newest iPhone release. The Huawei P9 is expected to meet all expectations mentioned and to surpass a few as well if it wants to be considered top-of-the-range and to be able to compete with the best in its class.
