Wine is a product to be shared together and that has seemed to be the theme that seeps through at the kykNET Wacky Wine Weekend.
The festival now in its 12th year allows wine lovers from near and far to custom plan their most enjoyable weekend as they come and celebrate the greatest wine moments at South Africa’s regional biggest wine festival.
It takes place at various participating wineries all across the Robertson Valley from 4-7 June where thousands of wine lovers book activities with their wineries of choice. Selecting which programmes to enjoy of master tasting, discovery of wines and food and wine matching educationals, wine tasting, river cruises and fresh oysters, and with all that happening not forgetting to stock up on their favourite wine.
Nibble on some deli foods of cheese, chocolates, olives and marinade as you’re wine gets poured for you, while those whose stomach is in the mood for bulkier food can enjoy some take away whilst you browse the unique and special craft products. Also at the festival support the 2015 friends of the wacky local businesses of restaurants and coffee shops.
It will be a fun filled crazy weekend with all of the trimmings and if you’ll be indulging in the grape assign a designated driver, in your group at any one of the participating farms for R120 includes a goodie bag, book a buddy bus or call a taxi.
To register to the weekend purchase the passport at your first port of call at R120pp. It includes a stylish tasting glass with a strip around the foot of the glass. Visitors also get “Friends of the Valley” vouchers (in the programme), containing special offers redeemable after the Wacky Wine Weekend, valid for 6 months, unless otherwise indicated.
