Want a Telkom Bursary in 2017?

Apply for a life changing opportunity through a Telkom Bursary in 2017. It’s your opportunity to study at university while also gaining work experience through Telkom.

The usual amount of a bursary per candidate is about R95 000, which cover the tuition, the housing as well as meals and transport.

The Telkom bursaries are part of the Foundation established in 1998 and registered as a trust in 2002. Its focus is to aid talented deserving candidates from disadvantaged communities to reach their goals. The bursaries are made available yearly for candidates from their 1st year of study up until their 4th year, creating educational opportunities that make a difference in many lives.

Applications for bursaries open yearly on the first day of March and closes on the last day of July.  Candidates, who have not heard from Telkom by the end of September after submitting their application, can assume their application has been unsuccessful.

Therefore now would be the time to start applying for the Telkom 2017 bursaries. If you’re interested in the fields of Communication, Engineering and Business Telkom Bursaries has the following fields of study available for qualifying candidates.

Information Technology for Communication Networks and Technical Applications

Applicants for the bursary may apply if you’re a South African citizen; you’re in Grade 12 or 11. Can provide proof of income and need for financial aid and have a valid SA ID book. Candidates must pass English Communication Skills and provide full academic records.

Bursaries applications online are not available but the forms can be collected from your nearest Telkom Centre for learning in your community.  Fill the form in completely and make sure all documents are certified copies and accompany your application.
